Which intro Economics courses should I take?
Our advisors typically recommend any of the following
introductory courses in Economics:
- Econ 0100, Introduction to Microeconomic Theory.
- Econ 0110, Introduction to Macroeconomic Theory.
- These courses provide a two course, in-depth treatment
of Economics introductory material. Econ 0100 and
Econ 0110 can be taken individually, or they can be
taken as a sequence in either order.
- Econ 0800, Introduction to Economics.
- Econ 0800 is a one semester survey course designed
for non-majors.
All of the above courses fulfill the College of
Arts and Science's general education requirements for
Social Science. Students who plan to
major in Economics, or to earn a degree in the College
of Business Administration, or to pursue the College of
Arts and Science's dual business major will need to take
both Econ 0100 and Econ 0110.
