Ying Fang received his PhD from the Department of Economics of the University of Pittsburgh in 2006. He is currently a Full Professor at Xiamen University and has recently received the Chang Jiang Scholar's award granted by the Chinese Ministry of Education. This award acknowledges major contributions made by Chinese scientists and overseas scholars in various research fields. Ying is being recognized for his contributions to theoretical econometrics and his applications of econometric methodology for understanding the Chinese economy. The chair is a lifetime honor that will be funded by both the Ministry of Education and Xiamen University.
