Brian Deutsch

  • Program Manager (MQE, BEDI)

I provide administrative support to the MQE program, the Behavioral Economics Design Initiative (BEDI), and other projects in the Department of Economics.  I am also closely involved with supporting our graduate students from the application process through graduation, and beyond.  I have worked at the University of Pittsburgh since 2011, and have been in the Department of Economics since 2016.  I earned a Master of Education degree from Pitt in 2020, focusing on ESL/EFL composition and international student acculturation.  Throughout my time at Pitt I have been committed to student success, responsiveness, and administrative excellence.  In addition to my work at Pitt I am the Coordinator for Membership Services for the Association for Comparative Economic Studies (ACES).  Prior to coming to Pitt I lived and worked in South Korea from 2005 to 2010, and I maintain a keen interest in international education and international student success.

Here is a collection of links to useful and relevant resources for graduate students in our programs.  Many, if not all, are free to the Pitt student community.  Please feel free to email or visit if you have any questions or concerns.
