Eric Donald, Assistant Professor of Economics
Prior to joining Pitt in 2024, he received his PhD from Boston University and his BS from Texas Christian University. His research interests are in macro, public, and environmental economics.

Pitt Econ PhD Vasiliki Skreta awarded inaugural Arrow Prize by Econometric Society.
Dr. Vasiliki Skreta, who earned her PhD from our department in 2001, was awarded the inaugural Arrow Prize from the Econometric Society on April 23.

The Department of Economics is excited to announce that the next application window for the Harvey S. Cohen Undergraduate Research Prize is now open.
PhD alumna Vasiliki Skreta named Fellow of the Econometrics Society.
On October 9, PhD alumna Vasiliki Skreta was announced as a 2023 Fellow for the Econometrics Society. Dr. Skreta is the Leroy G. Denman Regents Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Texas, Austin, working primarily on mechanism design.

Pitt's Economics undergraduate program #41 in the country according to latest report.
According to the 2024 U.S. News & World Report Best College report, Pitt's Department of Economics undergraduate programs rank #41 in the nation. Economics is one of two undergraduate programs making the Top 50 in their respective lists.
Master's in Quantitative Economics applications open for Fall 2024
The application portal for the Master of Science in Quantitative Economics (MQE) has opened for Fall 2024. Those interested in applying should visit the MQE Admissions page, review the information listed there, and create an application via GradCAS.
The MQE has rolling admissions, which means applications are reviewed as they are received. Applicants typically get decisions within 2 - 3 weeks.

Five Economics majors are recognized as 2023 Brackenridge Fellows.
Thirty-five undergraduate students at the University of Pittsburgh will receive $4,000 each and other support for their summer research as 2023 Brackenridge fellows. The fellowship, sponsored by the David C. Frederick Honors College, supports independently led research and creative projects and includes weekly seminars to enhance learning and idea exchange.
