Chancellor’s Graduate Fellowship in Chinese Studies

This Chinese Studies Award is administered by the Asian Studies Center and supports PhD students in any field of Chinese studies. Awards are made on an annual basis. Fellowships include a stipend and tuition scholarship for the academic year for which the award is made.

Eligibility

PhD students engaged in any field of Chinese Studies who are also Asian Studies Center Certificate students are eligible to apply for this award. Applicants must have completed at least two years of Chinese language study or the equivalent by the inception of the award period.

Application Process

Applicants must submit:

  • A completed application form
  • Official transcripts
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • A written statement (five page maximum) summarizing academic goals, career objectives, research interests and plans for use of the award
  • A current CV
  • GRE scores and, if applicable, TOEFL scores

The application deadline is in early February of each year.
